As large-scale battery energy storage systems become more common throughout Massachusetts, many communities are seeking evidence-based information on the safety, value, and benefits of these systems. Members of the MA Clean Peak Coalition will walk through how large-scale battery energy storage systems can be used to replace and retire expensive and polluting fossil-fuel power plants. Panelists will discuss the different types of energy storage, fire safety considerations for first responders, and other environmental implications related to battery storage.
